प्र ससाहिषे पुरुहूत शत्रूञ्ज्येष्ठस्ते शुष्म इह रातिरस्तु। इन्द्रा भर दक्षिणेना वसूनि पतिः सिन्धूनामसि रेवतीनाम्॥

Transliteration

pra sasāhiṣe puruhūta śatrūñjyeṣṭhaste śuṣma iha rātirastu | indrā bhara dakṣiṇenā vasūni patiḥ sindhūnāmasi revatīnām ||

Translation

O MUCH-INVOKED, thou hast subdued thy foemen: thy might is loftiest; here display thy bounty. In thy right hand, O Indra, bring us treasures: thou art the Lord of rivers filled with riches.

मृगो न भीमः कुचरो गिरिष्ठाः परावत आ जगन्था परस्याः। सृकं संशाय पविमिन्द्र तिग्मं वि शत्रून्ताळ्हि वि मृधो नुदस्व॥

Transliteration

mṛgo na bhīmaḥ kucaro giriṣṭhāḥ parāvata ā jaganthā parasyāḥ | sṛkaṁ saṁśāya pavimindra tigmaṁ vi śatrūntāḻhi vi mṛdho nudasva ||

Translation

Like a dread wild beast roaming on the mountain thou hast approached us from the farthest distance. Whetting thy bold and thy sharp blade, O Indra, crush thou the foe and scatter those who hate us.

इन्द्र क्षत्रमभि वाममोजोऽजायथा वृषभ चर्षणीनाम्। अपानुदो जनममित्रयन्तमुरुं देवेभ्यो अकृणोरु लोकम्॥

Transliteration

indra kṣatramabhi vāmamojo'jāyathā vṛṣabha carṣaṇīnām | apānudo janamamitrayantamuruṁ devebhyo akṛṇoru lokam ||

Translation

Thou, mighty Indra, sprangest into being as strength for lovely lordship o'er the people. Thou drovest off the folk who were unfriendly, and to the Gods thou gavest room and freedom.
