सूक्त २१

इहेन्द्राग्नी उप ह्वये तयोरित्स्तोममुश्मसि। ता सोमं सोमपातमा॥

ihendrāgnī upa hvaye tayoritstomamuśmasi | tā somaṁ somapātamā ||

INDRA and Agni I invoke fain are we for their song of praise Chief Soma-drinkers are they both.

ता यज्ञेषु प्र शंसतेन्द्राग्नी शुम्भता नरः। ता गायत्रेषु गायत॥

tā yajñeṣu pra śaṁsatendrāgnī śumbhatā naraḥ | tā gāyatreṣu gāyata ||

Praise ye, O men, and glorify Indra-Agni in the holy rites: Sing praise to them in sacred songs.

ता मित्रस्य प्रशस्तय इन्द्राग्नी ता हवामहे। सोमपा सोमपीतये॥

tā mitrasya praśastaya indrāgnī tā havāmahe | somapā somapītaye ||

Indra and Agni we invite, the Soma-drinkers, for the fame Of Mitra, to the Soma-draught.

उग्रा सन्ता हवामह उपेदं सवनं सुतम्। इन्द्राग्नी एह गच्छताम्॥

ugrā santā havāmaha upedaṁ savanaṁ sutam | indrāgnī eha gacchatām ||

Strong Gods, we bid them come to this libation that stands ready here: Indra and Agni, come to us.

ता महान्ता सदस्पती इन्द्राग्नी रक्ष उब्जतम्। अप्रजाः सन्त्वत्रिणः॥

tā mahāntā sadaspatī indrāgnī rakṣa ubjatam | aprajāḥ santvatriṇaḥ ||

Indra and Agni, mighty Lords of our assembly, crush the fiends: Childless be the devouring ones.

तेन सत्येन जागृतमधि प्रचेतुने पदे। इन्द्राग्नी शर्म यच्छतम्॥

tena satyena jāgṛtamadhi pracetune pade | indrāgnī śarma yacchatam ||

Watch ye, through this your truthfulness, there in the place of spacious view Indra and Agni, send us bliss.
