मूर्धानं दिवो अरतिं पृथिव्या वैश्वानरमृत आ जातमग्निम्। कविं सम्राजमतिथिं जनानामासन्ना पात्रं जनयन्त देवाः॥

Transliteration

mūrdhānaṁ divo aratiṁ pṛthivyā vaiśvānaramṛta ā jātamagnim | kaviṁ samrājamatithiṁ janānāmāsannā pātraṁ janayanta devāḥ ||

Translation

Him, messenger of earth and head of heaven, Agni Vaisvanara, born in holy Order, The Sage, the King, the guest of men, a vessel fit for their mouths, the Gods have generated.

नाभिं यज्ञानां सदनं रयीणां महामाहावमभि सं नवन्त। वैश्वानरं रथ्यमध्वराणां यज्ञस्य केतुं जनयन्त देवाः॥

Transliteration

nābhiṁ yajñānāṁ sadanaṁ rayīṇāṁ mahāmāhāvamabhi saṁ navanta | vaiśvānaraṁ rathyamadhvarāṇāṁ yajñasya ketuṁ janayanta devāḥ ||

Translation

Him have they praised, mid-point of sacrifices, great cistern of libations, seat of riches. Vaisvanara, conveyer of oblations, ensign of worship, have the Gods engendered.

त्वद्विप्रो जायते वाज्यग्ने त्वद्वीरासो अभिमातिषाहः। वैश्वानर त्वमस्मासु धेहि वसूनि राजन्स्पृहयाय्याणि॥

Transliteration

tvadvipro jāyate vājyagne tvadvīrāso abhimātiṣāhaḥ | vaiśvānara tvamasmāsu dhehi vasūni rājanspṛhayāyyāṇi ||

Translation

From thee, O Agni, springs the mighty singer, from thee come heroes who subdue the foeman. O King, Vaisvanara, bestow thou on us excellent treasures worthy to belonged fo r.

त्वां विश्वे अमृत जायमानं शिशुं न देवा अभि सं नवन्ते। तव क्रतुभिरमृतत्वमायन्वैश्वानर यत्पित्रोरदीदेः॥

Transliteration

tvāṁ viśve amṛta jāyamānaṁ śiśuṁ na devā abhi saṁ navante | tava kratubhiramṛtatvamāyanvaiśvānara yatpitroradīdeḥ ||

Translation

To thee, Immortal! when to life thou springest, all the Gods sing for joy as to their infant. They by thy mental powers were made immortal, Vaisvanara, when thou shonest from thy Parents.

वैश्वानर तव तानि व्रतानि महान्यग्ने नकिरा दधर्ष। यज्जायमानः पित्रोरुपस्थेऽविन्दः केतुं वयुनेष्वह्नाम्॥

Transliteration

vaiśvānara tava tāni vratāni mahānyagne nakirā dadharṣa | yajjāyamānaḥ pitrorupasthe'vindaḥ ketuṁ vayuneṣvahnām ||

Translation

Agni Vaisvanara, no one hath ever resisted these thy mighty ordinances, When thou, arising from thy Parents' bosom, foundest the light for days' appointed courses.

वैश्वानरस्य विमितानि चक्षसा सानूनि दिवो अमृतस्य केतुना। तस्येदु विश्वा भुवनाधि मूर्धनि वया इव रुरुहुः सप्त विस्रुहः॥

Transliteration

vaiśvānarasya vimitāni cakṣasā sānūni divo amṛtasya ketunā | tasyedu viśvā bhuvanādhi mūrdhani vayā iva ruruhuḥ sapta visruhaḥ ||

Translation

The summits of the heaven are traversed through and through by the Immortal's light, Vaisvanara's brilliancy. All creatures in existence rest upon his head. The Seven swift-flowing Streams have grown like branches forth,

वि यो रजांस्यमिमीत सुक्रतुर्वैश्वानरो वि दिवो रोचना कविः। परि यो विश्वा भुवनानि पप्रथेऽदब्धो गोपा अमृतस्य रक्षिता॥

Transliteration

vi yo rajāṁsyamimīta sukraturvaiśvānaro vi divo rocanā kaviḥ | pari yo viśvā bhuvanāni paprathe'dabdho gopā amṛtasya rakṣitā ||

Translation

Vaisvanara, who measured out the realms of air, Sage very wise who made the lucid spheres of heaven, The Undeceivable who spread out all the worlds, keeper is he and guard of immortality.
