अर्चन्तस्त्वा हवामहेऽर्चन्तः समिधीमहि। अग्ने अर्चन्त ऊतये॥

Transliteration

arcantastvā havāmahe'rcantaḥ samidhīmahi | agne arcanta ūtaye ||

Translation

WITH songs of praise we call on thee, we kindle thee with songs of praise, Agni, -with songs of praise, for help.

अग्नेः स्तोमं मनामहे सिध्रमद्य दिविस्पृशः। देवस्य द्रविणस्यवः॥

Transliteration

agneḥ stomaṁ manāmahe sidhramadya divispṛśaḥ | devasya draviṇasyavaḥ ||

Translation

Eager for wealth, we meditate Agni's effectual praise to-day, Praise of the God who touches heaven.

अग्निर्जुषत नो गिरो होता यो मानुषेष्वा। स यक्षद्दैव्यं जनम्॥

Transliteration

agnirjuṣata no giro hotā yo mānuṣeṣvā | sa yakṣaddaivyaṁ janam ||

Translation

May Agni, Priest among mankind, take pleasure in our songs of praise, And worship the Celestial Folk.

त्वमग्ने सप्रथा असि जुष्टो होता वरेण्यः। त्वया यज्ञं वि तन्वते॥

Transliteration

tvamagne saprathā asi juṣṭo hotā vareṇyaḥ | tvayā yajñaṁ vi tanvate ||

Translation

Thou, Agni, art spread widely forth, Priest dear and excellent; through thee Men make the sacrifice complete.

त्वामग्ने वाजसातमं विप्रा वर्धन्ति सुष्टुतम्। स नो रास्व सुवीर्यम्॥

Transliteration

tvāmagne vājasātamaṁ viprā vardhanti suṣṭutam | sa no rāsva suvīryam ||

Translation

Singers exalt thee, Agni, well lauded, best giver of our strength: So grant thou us heroic might.

Transliteration

agne nemirarā iva devāstvaṁ paribhūrasi | ā rādhaścitramṛñjase ||

Translation

Thou Agni, as the felly rings the spokes, encompassest the Gods. 1 yearn for bounty manifold.
