Sukta 19

प्रति त्यं चारुमध्वरं गोपीथाय प्र हूयसे। मरुद्भिरग्न आ गहि॥

prati tyaṁ cārumadhvaraṁ gopīthāya pra hūyase | marudbhiragna ā gahi ||

To this fair sacrifice to drink the milky draught thou art invoked: O Agni, with the Maruts come.

नहि देवो न मर्त्यो महस्तव क्रतुं परः। मरुद्भिरग्न आ गहि॥

nahi devo na martyo mahastava kratuṁ paraḥ | marudbhiragna ā gahi ||

No mortal man, no God exceeds thy mental power, O Mighty one - O Agni, with the Maruts come

ये महो रजसो विदुर्विश्वे देवासो अद्रुहः। मरुद्भिरग्न आ गहि॥

ye maho rajaso vidurviśve devāso adruhaḥ | marudbhiragna ā gahi ||

All Gods devoid of guile, who know the mighty region of mid-air: O Agni, with those Maruts come.

य उग्रा अर्कमानृचुरनाधृष्टास ओजसा। मरुद्भिरग्न आ गहि॥

ya ugrā arkamānṛcuranādhṛṣṭāsa ojasā | marudbhiragna ā gahi ||

The terrible, who sing their song, not to be overcome by might: O Agni, with those Maruts come.

ये शुभ्रा घोरवर्पसः सुक्षत्रासो रिशादसः। मरुद्भिरग्न आ गहि॥

ye śubhrā ghoravarpasaḥ sukṣatrāso riśādasaḥ | marudbhiragna ā gahi ||

Brilliant, and awful in their form, mighty, devourers of their foes': O Agni, with those Maruts come.

ये नाकस्याधि रोचने दिवि देवास आसते। मरुद्भिरग्न आ गहि॥

ye nākasyādhi rocane divi devāsa āsate | marudbhiragna ā gahi ||

Who sit as Deities in heaven, above the sky-vault's luminous sphere: O Agni, with those Maruts come.

य ईङ्खयन्ति पर्वतान्तिरः समुद्रमर्णवम्। मरुद्भिरग्न आ गहि॥

ya īṅkhayanti parvatāntiraḥ samudramarṇavam | marudbhiragna ā gahi ||

Who scatter clouds about the sky, away over the billowy sea: O Agni, with those Maruts come.

आ ये तन्वन्ति रश्मिभिस्तिरः समुद्रमोजसा। मरुद्भिरग्न आ गहि॥

ā ye tanvanti raśmibhistiraḥ samudramojasā | marudbhiragna ā gahi ||

Who with their bright beams spread them forth over the ocean in their might O Agni, with those Maruts come.

अभि त्वा पूर्वपीतये सृजामि सोम्यं मधु। मरुद्भिरग्न आ गहि॥

abhi tvā pūrvapītaye sṛjāmi somyaṁ madhu | marudbhiragna ā gahi ||

For thee, to be thine early draught, I pour the Soma-mingled meath: O Agni, with the Maruts come.
