स्वस्ति नो दिवो अग्ने पृथिव्या विश्वायुर्धेहि यजथाय देव। सचेमहि तव दस्म प्रकेतैरुरुष्या ण उरुभिर्देव शंसैः॥

Transliteration

svasti no divo agne pṛthivyā viśvāyurdhehi yajathāya deva | sacemahi tava dasma praketairuruṣyā ṇa urubhirdeva śaṁsaiḥ ||

Translation

O AGNI, shared by all men living bring us good luck for sacrifice from earth and heaven. With us be thine intelligence, WonderWorker! Protect us, God, with thy far-reaching blessings.

इमा अग्ने मतयस्तुभ्यं जाता गोभिरश्वैरभि गृणन्ति राधः। यदा ते मर्तो अनु भोगमानड्वसो दधानो मतिभिः सुजात॥

Transliteration

imā agne matayastubhyaṁ jātā gobhiraśvairabhi gṛṇanti rādhaḥ | yadā te marto anu bhogamānaḍvaso dadhāno matibhiḥ sujāta ||

Translation

These hymns brought forth for thee, O Agni, laud thee for bounteous gifts, with cattle and with horses. Good Lord, when man from thee hath gained enjoyment, by hymns, O noblyborn, hath he obtained it.

अग्निं मन्ये पितरमग्निमापिमग्निं भ्रातरं सदमित्सखायम्। अग्नेरनीकं बृहतः सपर्यं दिवि शुक्रं यजतं सूर्यस्य॥

Transliteration

agniṁ manye pitaramagnimāpimagniṁ bhrātaraṁ sadamitsakhāyam | agneranīkaṁ bṛhataḥ saparyaṁ divi śukraṁ yajataṁ sūryasya ||

Translation

Agni I deem my Kinsman and my Father, count him my Brother and my Friend for ever. I honour as the face of lofty Agni in heaven the bright and holy light of Surya.

सिध्रा अग्ने धियो अस्मे सनुत्रीर्यं त्रायसे दम आ नित्यहोता। ऋतावा स रोहिदश्वः पुरुक्षुर्द्युभिरस्मा अहभिर्वाममस्तु॥

Transliteration

sidhrā agne dhiyo asme sanutrīryaṁ trāyase dama ā nityahotā | ṛtāvā sa rohidaśvaḥ purukṣurdyubhirasmā ahabhirvāmamastu ||

Translation

Effectual, Agni, are our prayers for profit. He whom, at home thou, Priest for ever, guardest Is rich in food, drawn by red steeds, and holy: by day and night to him shall all be pleasant.

द्युभिर्हितं मित्रमिव प्रयोगं प्रत्नमृत्विजमध्वरस्य जारम्। बाहुभ्यामग्निमायवोऽजनन्त विक्षु होतारं न्यसादयन्त॥

Transliteration

dyubhirhitaṁ mitramiva prayogaṁ pratnamṛtvijamadhvarasya jāram | bāhubhyāmagnimāyavo'jananta vikṣu hotāraṁ nyasādayanta ||

Translation

Men with their arms have generated Agni, helpful as some kind friend, adorned with splendours, And stablished as Invoker mid the people the ancient Priest the sacrifice's lover.

स्वयं यजस्व दिवि देव देवान्किं ते पाकः कृणवदप्रचेताः। यथायज ऋतुभिर्देव देवानेवा यजस्व तन्वं सुजात॥

Transliteration

svayaṁ yajasva divi deva devānkiṁ te pākaḥ kṛṇavadapracetāḥ | yathāyaja ṛtubhirdeva devānevā yajasva tanvaṁ sujāta ||

Translation

Worship, thyself, O God, the Gods in heaven: what, void of knowledge, shall the fool avail thee? As thou, O God, hast worshipped Gods by seasons, so, nobly-born! to thine own self pay worship.

भवा नो अग्नेऽवितोत गोपा भवा वयस्कृदुत नो वयोधाः। रास्वा च नः सुमहो हव्यदातिं त्रास्वोत नस्तन्वो अप्रयुच्छन्॥

Transliteration

bhavā no agne'vitota gopā bhavā vayaskṛduta no vayodhāḥ | rāsvā ca naḥ sumaho havyadātiṁ trāsvota nastanvo aprayucchan ||

Translation

Agni, be thou our Guardian and Protector bestow upon us life and vital vigour. Accept, O Mighty One, the gifts we offer, and with unceasing care protect our bodies.
