एष उ स्य वृषा रथोऽव्यो वारेभिरर्षति। गच्छन्वाजं सहस्रिणम्॥

Transliteration

eṣa u sya vṛṣā ratho'vyo vārebhirarṣati | gacchanvājaṁ sahasriṇam ||

Translation

THIS Steer, this Chariot, rushes through the woollen filter, as he goes To war that wins a thousand spoils.

एतं त्रितस्य योषणो हरिं हिन्वन्त्यद्रिभिः। इन्दुमिन्द्राय पीतये॥

Transliteration

etaṁ tritasya yoṣaṇo hariṁ hinvantyadribhiḥ | indumindrāya pītaye ||

Translation

The Dames of Trita with the stones onward impel this Tawny One Indu to Indra for his drink.

एतं त्यं हरितो दश मर्मृज्यन्ते अपस्युवः। याभिर्मदाय शुम्भते॥

Transliteration

etaṁ tyaṁ harito daśa marmṛjyante apasyuvaḥ | yābhirmadāya śumbhate ||

Translation

Ten active fingers carefully adorn him here; they make him bright And beauteous for the gladdening draught.

Transliteration

eṣa sya mānuṣīṣvā śyeno na vikṣu sīdati | gacchañjāro na yoṣitam ||

He like a falcon settles down amid the families of men. Speeding like lover to his love.

Transliteration

eṣa sya madyo raso'va caṣṭe divaḥ śiśuḥ | ya indurvāramāviśat ||

This young exhilarating juice looks downward from its place in heaven, This Soma-drop that pierced the sieve.

Poured for the draught, this tawny juice flows forth, intelligent, crying out, Unto the well-beloved place.
