Sukta 15

एष धिया यात्यण्व्या शूरो रथेभिराशुभिः। गच्छन्निन्द्रस्य निष्कृतम्॥

eṣa dhiyā yātyaṇvyā śūro rathebhirāśubhiḥ | gacchannindrasya niṣkṛtam ||

THROUGH the fine fingers, with the song, this Hero comes with rapid ears, Going to Indra's special place.

एष पुरू धियायते बृहते देवतातये। यत्रामृतास आसते॥

eṣa purū dhiyāyate bṛhate devatātaye | yatrāmṛtāsa āsate ||

In holy thought he ponders much for the great worship of the Gods. Where the Immortals have their seat.

एष हितो वि नीयतेऽन्तः शुभ्रावता पथा। यदी तुञ्जन्ति भूर्णयः॥

eṣa hito vi nīyate'ntaḥ śubhrāvatā pathā | yadī tuñjanti bhūrṇayaḥ ||

Like a good horse is he led out, when on the path that shines with light The mettled steeds exert their strength.

एष शृङ्गाणि दोधुवच्छिशीते यूथ्यो वृषा। नृम्णा दधान ओजसा॥

eṣa śṛṅgāṇi dodhuvacchiśīte yūthyo vṛṣā | nṛmṇā dadhāna ojasā ||

He brandishes his horns on high, and whets them Bull who leads the herd, Doing with might heroic deeds.

एष रुक्मिभिरीयते वाजी शुभ्रेभिरंशुभिः। पतिः सिन्धूनां भवन्॥

eṣa rukmibhirīyate vājī śubhrebhiraṁśubhiḥ | patiḥ sindhūnāṁ bhavan ||

He moves, a vigorous Steed, adorned with beauteous rays of shining gold, Becoming Sovran of the streams.

एष वसूनि पिब्दना परुषा ययिवाँ अति। अव शादेषु गच्छति॥

eṣa vasūni pibdanā paruṣā yayivā ati | ava śādeṣu gacchati ||

He, over places rough to pass, bringing rich treasures closely packed. Descends into the reservoirs.

एतं मृजन्ति मर्ज्यमुप द्रोणेष्वायवः। प्रचक्राणं महीरिषः॥

etaṁ mṛjanti marjyamupa droṇeṣvāyavaḥ | pracakrāṇaṁ mahīriṣaḥ ||

Men beautify him in the vats, him worthy to be beautified, Him who brings forth abundant food.

एतमु त्यं दश क्षिपो मृजन्ति सप्त धीतयः। स्वायुधं मदिन्तमम्॥

etamu tyaṁ daśa kṣipo mṛjanti sapta dhītayaḥ | svāyudhaṁ madintamam ||

Him, even him, the fingers ten and the seven songs make beautiful, Well-weaponed, best of gladdeners.
