प्र सम्राजं चर्षणीनामिन्द्रं स्तोता नव्यं गीर्भिः। नरं नृषाहं मंहिष्ठम्॥
Transliterationpra samrājaṁ carṣaṇīnāmindraṁ stotā navyaṁ gīrbhiḥ | naraṁ nṛṣāhaṁ maṁhiṣṭham ||
TranslationPRAISE Indra whom our songs must laud, sole Sovran of mankind, the Chief Most liberal who controlleth men.

Transliterationyasminnukthāni raṇyanti viśvāni ca śravasyā | apāmavo na samudre ||
TranslationIn whom the hymns of praise delight, and all the glory-giving songs. Like the floods' longing for the sea.

TranslationHim I invite with eulogy, best King, effective in the fight, Strong for the gain of mighty spoil.

TranslationHim who advances them to wealth, sends light to lead them in the war, And quells their foemen in the fray.
