इन्द्रासोमा महि तद्वां महित्वं युवं महानि प्रथमानि चक्रथुः। युवं सूर्यं विविदथुर्युवं स्वर्विश्वा तमांस्यहतं निदश्च॥

Transliteration

indrāsomā mahi tadvāṁ mahitvaṁ yuvaṁ mahāni prathamāni cakrathuḥ | yuvaṁ sūryaṁ vividathuryuvaṁ svarviśvā tamāṁsyahataṁ nidaśca ||

Translation

GREAT is this might of yours, Indra and Soma: the first high exploits were your own achievements. Ye found the Sun ye found the light of heaven: ye killed all darkness and the Gods' blasphemers.

इन्द्रासोमा वासयथ उषासमुत्सूर्यं नयथो ज्योतिषा सह। उप द्यां स्कम्भथुः स्कम्भनेनाप्रथतं पृथिवीं मातरं वि॥

Transliteration

indrāsomā vāsayatha uṣāsamutsūryaṁ nayatho jyotiṣā saha | upa dyāṁ skambhathuḥ skambhanenāprathataṁ pṛthivīṁ mātaraṁ vi ||

Translation

Ye, Indra-Soma, gave her light to Morning, and led the Sun on high with all his splendour. Ye stayed the heaven with a supporting pillar, and spread abroad apart, the Earth, the Mother.

इन्द्रासोमावहिमपः परिष्ठां हथो वृत्रमनु वां द्यौरमन्यत। प्रार्णांस्यैरयतं नदीनामा समुद्राणि पप्रथुः पुरूणि॥

Transliteration

indrāsomāvahimapaḥ pariṣṭhāṁ hatho vṛtramanu vāṁ dyauramanyata | prārṇāṁsyairayataṁ nadīnāmā samudrāṇi paprathuḥ purūṇi ||

Translation

Ye slew the flood -obstructing serpent Vrtra, Indra and Soma: Heaven approved your exploit. Ye urged to speed the currents of the rivers, and many seas have ye filled full with waters.

इन्द्रासोमा पक्वमामास्वन्तर्नि गवामिद्दधथुर्वक्षणासु। जगृभथुरनपिनद्धमासु रुशच्चित्रासु जगतीष्वन्तः॥

Transliteration

indrāsomā pakvamāmāsvantarni gavāmiddadhathurvakṣaṇāsu | jagṛbhathuranapinaddhamāsu ruśaccitrāsu jagatīṣvantaḥ ||

Translation

Ye in the unripe udders of the milch-kine have set the ripe milk, Indra, thou, and Soma. Ye have held fast the unimpeded whiteness within these many-coloured moving creatures.

इन्द्रासोमा युवमङ्ग तरुत्रमपत्यसाचं श्रुत्यं रराथे। युवं शुष्मं नर्यं चर्षणिभ्यः सं विव्यथुः पृतनाषाहमुग्रा॥

Transliteration

indrāsomā yuvamaṅga tarutramapatyasācaṁ śrutyaṁ rarāthe | yuvaṁ śuṣmaṁ naryaṁ carṣaṇibhyaḥ saṁ vivyathuḥ pṛtanāṣāhamugrā ||

Translation

Verily ye bestow, Indra and Soma, wealth, famed, victorious, passing to our children. Ye have invested men, ye Mighty Beings, with manly strength that conquers in the battle.
