हुवे वः सूनुं सहसो युवानमद्रोघवाचं मतिभिर्यविष्ठम्। य इन्वति द्रविणानि प्रचेता विश्ववाराणि पुरुवारो अध्रुक्॥

Transliteration

huve vaḥ sūnuṁ sahaso yuvānamadroghavācaṁ matibhiryaviṣṭham | ya invati draviṇāni pracetā viśvavārāṇi puruvāro adhruk ||

Translation

I INVOCATE your Son of Strength, the Youthful, with hymns, the Youngest God, whose speech is guileless; Sage who sends wealth comprising every treasure, bringer of many boons, devoid of malice.

त्वे वसूनि पुर्वणीक होतर्दोषा वस्तोरेरिरे यज्ञियासः। क्षामेव विश्वा भुवनानि यस्मिन्सं सौभगानि दधिरे पावके॥

Transliteration

tve vasūni purvaṇīka hotardoṣā vastorerire yajñiyāsaḥ | kṣāmeva viśvā bhuvanāni yasminsaṁ saubhagāni dadhire pāvake ||

Translation

At eve and morn thy pious servants bring thee their precious gifts, O Priest of many aspects, On whom, the Purifier, all things living as on firm. ground their happiness have stablished.

त्वं विक्षु प्रदिवः सीद आसु क्रत्वा रथीरभवो वार्याणाम्। अत इनोषि विधते चिकित्वो व्यानुषग्जातवेदो वसूनि॥

Transliteration

tvaṁ vikṣu pradivaḥ sīda āsu kratvā rathīrabhavo vāryāṇām | ata inoṣi vidhate cikitvo vyānuṣagjātavedo vasūni ||

Translation

Thou from of old hast dwelt among these people, by mental power the charioteer of blessings. Hence sendest thou, O sapient Jatavedas, to him who serves thee treasures in succession.

यो नः सनुत्यो अभिदासदग्ने यो अन्तरो मित्रमहो वनुष्यात्। तमजरेभिर्वृषभिस्तव स्वैस्तपा तपिष्ठ तपसा तपस्वान्॥

Transliteration

yo naḥ sanutyo abhidāsadagne yo antaro mitramaho vanuṣyāt | tamajarebhirvṛṣabhistava svaistapā tapiṣṭha tapasā tapasvān ||

Translation

Agni, whoever secretly attacks us, the neighbour, thou with Mitra's might! who harms us, Burn him with thine own Steers for ever youthful, burning with burning heat, thou fiercest burner.

Transliteration

yaste yajñena samidhā ya ukthairarkebhiḥ sūno sahaso dadāśat | sa martyeṣvamṛta pracetā rāyā dyumnena śravasā vi bhāti ||

Translation

He who serves thee with sacrifice and fuel, with hymn, O Son of Strength, and chanted praises, Shines out, Immortal! in the midst of mortals, a sage, with wealth, with splendour and with glory.

स तत्कृधीषितस्तूयमग्ने स्पृधो बाधस्व सहसा सहस्वान्। यच्छस्यसे द्युभिरक्तो वचोभिस्तज्जुषस्व जरितुर्घोषि मन्म॥

Transliteration

sa tatkṛdhīṣitastūyamagne spṛdho bādhasva sahasā sahasvān | yacchasyase dyubhirakto vacobhistajjuṣasva jariturghoṣi manma ||

Translation

Do this, O Agni, when we urge thee, quickly, triumphant in thy might subdue our foemen. When thou art praised with words and decked with brightness, accept this chanted hymn, the singer's worship.

अश्याम तं काममग्ने तवोती अश्याम रयिं रयिवः सुवीरम्। अश्याम वाजमभि वाजयन्तोऽश्याम द्युम्नमजराजरं ते॥

Transliteration

aśyāma taṁ kāmamagne tavotī aśyāma rayiṁ rayivaḥ suvīram | aśyāma vājamabhi vājayanto'śyāma dyumnamajarājaraṁ te ||

Translation

Help us, that we may gain this wish, O Agni, gain riches, Wealthy One! with store of heroes. Desiring strength from thee may we be strengthened, and win, Eternal! thine eternal glory.
