Sukta 24

अग्ने त्वं नो अन्तम उत त्राता शिवो भवा वरूथ्यः॥

agne tvaṁ no antama uta trātā śivo bhavā varūthyaḥ ||

O AGNI, be our nearest Friend, be thou a kind deliverer and a gracious Friend.

वसुरग्निर्वसुश्रवा अच्छा नक्षि द्युमत्तमं रयिं दाः॥

vasuragnirvasuśravā acchā nakṣi dyumattamaṁ rayiṁ dāḥ ||

Excellent Agni, come thou nigh to us, and give us wealth most splendidly renowned.

स नो बोधि श्रुधी हवमुरुष्या णो अघायतः समस्मात्॥

sa no bodhi śrudhī havamuruṣyā ṇo aghāyataḥ samasmāt ||

So hear us, listen to this call of ours, and keep us far from every sinful man.

तं त्वा शोचिष्ठ दीदिवः सुम्नाय नूनमीमहे सखिभ्यः॥

taṁ tvā śociṣṭha dīdivaḥ sumnāya nūnamīmahe sakhibhyaḥ ||

To thee then, O Most Bright, O Radiant God, we come with prayer for happiness for our friends.
