प्रति ष्या सूनरी जनी व्युच्छन्ती परि स्वसुः। दिवो अदर्शि दुहिता॥

Transliteration

prati ṣyā sūnarī janī vyucchantī pari svasuḥ | divo adarśi duhitā ||

Translation

THIS Lady, giver of delight, after her Sister shining forth, Daughter of Heaven, hath shown herself.-

Transliteration

aśveva citrāruṣī mātā gavāmṛtāvarī | sakhābhūdaśvinoruṣāḥ ||

Translation

Unfailing, Mother of the Kine, in colour like a bright red mare, The Dawn became the Asvins' Friend.

Transliteration

uta sakhāsyaśvinoruta mātā gavāmasi | utoṣo vasva īśiṣe ||

Translation

Yea, and thou art the Asvins' Friend, the Mother of the Kine art thou: O Dawn thou rulest over wealth.

यावयद्द्वेषसं त्वा चिकित्वित्सूनृतावरि। प्रति स्तोमैरभुत्स्महि॥

Transliteration

yāvayaddveṣasaṁ tvā cikitvitsūnṛtāvari | prati stomairabhutsmahi ||

Translation

Thinking of thee, O joyous One, as her who driveth hate away, We woke to meet thee with our lauds.

प्रति भद्रा अदृक्षत गवां सर्गा न रश्मयः। ओषा अप्रा उरु ज्रयः॥

Transliteration

prati bhadrā adṛkṣata gavāṁ sargā na raśmayaḥ | oṣā aprā uru jrayaḥ ||

Translation

Our eyes behold thy blessed rays like troops of cattle loosed to feed. Dawn hath filled full the wide expanse.

Transliteration

āpapruṣī vibhāvari vyāvarjyotiṣā tamaḥ | uṣo anu svadhāmava ||

Translation

When thou hast filled it, Fulgent One! thou layest bare the gloom with light. After thy nature aid us, Dawn.

ā dyāṁ tanoṣi raśmibhirāntarikṣamuru priyam | uṣaḥ śukreṇa śociṣā ||

Translation

Thou overspreadest heaven with rays, the dear wide region of mid-air. With thy bright shining lustre, Dawn.
