मरुत्वाँ इन्द्र वृषभो रणाय पिबा सोममनुष्वधं मदाय। आ सिञ्चस्व जठरे मध्व ऊर्मिं त्वं राजासि प्रदिवः सुतानाम्॥

Transliteration

marutvā indra vṛṣabho raṇāya pibā somamanuṣvadhaṁ madāya | ā siñcasva jaṭhare madhva ūrmiṁ tvaṁ rājāsi pradivaḥ sutānām ||

Translation

DRINK, Indra, Marut-girt, as Bull, the Soma, for joy, for rapture even as thou listest. Pour down the flood of meath within thy belly: thou from of old art King of Soma juices.

सजोषा इन्द्र सगणो मरुद्भिः सोमं पिब वृत्रहा शूर विद्वान्। जहि शत्रूँरप मृधो नुदस्वाथाभयं कृणुहि विश्वतो नः॥

Transliteration

sajoṣā indra sagaṇo marudbhiḥ somaṁ piba vṛtrahā śūra vidvān | jahi śatrūrapa mṛdho nudasvāthābhayaṁ kṛṇuhi viśvato naḥ ||

Translation

Indra, accordant, with the banded Maruts, drink Soma, Hero, as wise Vrtra-slayer. Slay thou our foemen, drive away assailants and make us safe on every side from danger.

उत ऋतुभिरृतुपाः पाहि सोममिन्द्र देवेभिः सखिभिः सुतं नः। याँ आभजो मरुतो ये त्वान्वहन्वृत्रमदधुस्तुभ्यमोजः॥

Transliteration

uta ṛtubhirṛtupāḥ pāhi somamindra devebhiḥ sakhibhiḥ sutaṁ naḥ | yā ābhajo maruto ye tvānvahanvṛtramadadhustubhyamojaḥ ||

Translation

And, drinker at due seasons, drink in season, Indra, with friendly Gods, our pressed-out Soma. The Maruts following, whom thou madest sharers, gave thee the victory, and thou slewest Vrtra.

ये त्वाहिहत्ये मघवन्नवर्धन्ये शाम्बरे हरिवो ये गविष्टौ। ये त्वा नूनमनुमदन्ति विप्राः पिबेन्द्र सोमं सगणो मरुद्भिः॥

Transliteration

ye tvāhihatye maghavannavardhanye śāmbare harivo ye gaviṣṭau | ye tvā nūnamanumadanti viprāḥ pibendra somaṁ sagaṇo marudbhiḥ ||

Translation

Drink Soma, Indra, banded with the Maruts who, Maghavan, strengthened thee at Ahi's slaughter, 'Gainst Sambara, Lord of Bays! in winning cattle, and now rejoice in thee, the holy Singers.

मरुत्वन्तं वृषभं वावृधानमकवारिं दिव्यं शासमिन्द्रम्। विश्वासाहमवसे नूतनायोग्रं सहोदामिह तं हुवेम॥

Transliteration

marutvantaṁ vṛṣabhaṁ vāvṛdhānamakavāriṁ divyaṁ śāsamindram | viśvāsāhamavase nūtanāyograṁ sahodāmiha taṁ huvema ||

Translation

The Bull whose strength hath waxed, whom Maruts follow, free-giving Indra, the celestial Ruler, Mighty, all-conquering, the victory-giver, him let us call to grant us new protection.
