अयमग्निः सुवीर्यस्येशे महः सौभगस्य। राय ईशे स्वपत्यस्य गोमत ईशे वृत्रहथानाम्॥

Transliteration

ayamagniḥ suvīryasyeśe mahaḥ saubhagasya | rāya īśe svapatyasya gomata īśe vṛtrahathānām ||

Translation

THIS Agni is the Lord of great felicity and hero Strength; Lord of wealth in herds of kine; Lord of the battles with the foe.

इमं नरो मरुतः सश्चता वृधं यस्मिन्रायः शेवृधासः। अभि ये सन्ति पृतनासु दूढ्यो विश्वाहा शत्रुमादभुः॥

Transliteration

imaṁ naro marutaḥ saścatā vṛdhaṁ yasminrāyaḥ śevṛdhāsaḥ | abhi ye santi pṛtanāsu dūḍhyo viśvāhā śatrumādabhuḥ ||

Translation

Wait, Maruts, Heroes, upon him the Prosperer in whom is bliss-increasing wealth; Who in fights ever conquer evil-hearted men, who overcome the enemy.

स त्वं नो रायः शिशीहि मीढ्वो अग्ने सुवीर्यस्य। तुविद्युम्न वर्षिष्ठस्य प्रजावतोऽनमीवस्य शुष्मिणः॥

Transliteration

sa tvaṁ no rāyaḥ śiśīhi mīḍhvo agne suvīryasya | tuvidyumna varṣiṣṭhasya prajāvato'namīvasya śuṣmiṇaḥ ||

Translation

As such, O Agni, deal us wealth and hero might, O Bounteous One! Most lofty, very glorious, rich in progeny, free from disease and full of power.

चक्रिर्यो विश्वा भुवनाभि सासहिश्चक्रिर्देवेष्वा दुवः। आ देवेषु यतत आ सुवीर्य आ शंस उत नृणाम्॥

Transliteration

cakriryo viśvā bhuvanābhi sāsahiścakrirdeveṣvā duvaḥ | ā deveṣu yatata ā suvīrya ā śaṁsa uta nṛṇām ||

Translation

He who made all that lives, who passes all in might, who orders service to the Gods, He works among the Gods, he works in hero strength, yea, also in the praise of men.

मा नो अग्नेऽमतये मावीरतायै रीरधः। मागोतायै सहसस्पुत्र मा निदेऽप द्वेषांस्या कृधि॥

Transliteration

mā no agne'mataye māvīratāyai rīradhaḥ | māgotāyai sahasasputra mā nide'pa dveṣāṁsyā kṛdhi ||

Translation

Give us not up to indigence, Agni, nor want of hero sons, Nor, Son of Strength, to lack of cattle, nor to blame. Drive. thou our enemies away.

शग्धि वाजस्य सुभग प्रजावतोऽग्ने बृहतो अध्वरे। सं राया भूयसा सृज मयोभुना तुविद्युम्न यशस्वता॥

Transliteration

śagdhi vājasya subhaga prajāvato'gne bṛhato adhvare | saṁ rāyā bhūyasā sṛja mayobhunā tuvidyumna yaśasvatā ||

Translation

Help us to strength, blest Agni! rich in progeny, abundant, in our sacrifice. Flood us with riches yet more plenteous, bringing weal, with high renown, most Glorious One!
