अध्वर्यवो भरतेन्द्राय सोममामत्रेभिः सिञ्चता मद्यमन्धः। कामी हि वीरः सदमस्य पीतिं जुहोत वृष्णे तदिदेष वष्टि॥

Transliteration

adhvaryavo bharatendrāya somamāmatrebhiḥ siñcatā madyamandhaḥ | kāmī hi vīraḥ sadamasya pītiṁ juhota vṛṣṇe tadideṣa vaṣṭi ||

Translation

MINISTERS, bring the Soma juice for Indra, pour forth the gladdening liquor with the beakers.logeth ever To drink of this the Hero offer it to the Bull, for this he willeth.

अध्वर्यवो यो अपो वव्रिवांसं वृत्रं जघानाशन्येव वृक्षम्। तस्मा एतं भरत तद्वशायँ एष इन्द्रो अर्हति पीतिमस्य॥

Transliteration

adhvaryavo yo apo vavrivāṁsaṁ vṛtraṁ jaghānāśanyeva vṛkṣam | tasmā etaṁ bharata tadvaśāya eṣa indro arhati pītimasya ||

Translation

Ye ministers, to him who with the lightning smote, like a tree, the rain-withholding Vrtra- Bring it to him, him who is fain to taste it, a draught of this which Indra here deserveth.

अध्वर्यवो यो दृभीकं जघान यो गा उदाजदप हि वलं वः। तस्मा एतमन्तरिक्षे न वातमिन्द्रं सोमैरोर्णुत जूर्न वस्त्रैः॥

Transliteration

adhvaryavo yo dṛbhīkaṁ jaghāna yo gā udājadapa hi valaṁ vaḥ | tasmā etamantarikṣe na vātamindraṁ somairorṇuta jūrna vastraiḥ ||

Translation

Ye ministers, to him who smote Drhhikas who drove the kine forth, and discovered Vala, Offer this draught, like Vita in the region: clothe him with Soma even as steeds with trappings.

अध्वर्यवो य उरणं जघान नव चख्वांसं नवतिं च बाहून्। यो अर्बुदमव नीचा बबाधे तमिन्द्रं सोमस्य भृथे हिनोत॥

Transliteration

adhvaryavo ya uraṇaṁ jaghāna nava cakhvāṁsaṁ navatiṁ ca bāhūn | yo arbudamava nīcā babādhe tamindraṁ somasya bhṛthe hinota ||

Translation

Him who did Urana to death, Adhvaryus! though showing arms ninety-and-nine in number; Who cast down headlong Arbuda and slew him,-speed ye that Indra to our offered Soma.

अध्वर्यवो यः स्वश्नं जघान यः शुष्णमशुषं यो व्यंसम्। यः पिप्रुं नमुचिं यो रुधिक्रां तस्मा इन्द्रायान्धसो जुहोत॥

Transliteration

adhvaryavo yaḥ svaśnaṁ jaghāna yaḥ śuṣṇamaśuṣaṁ yo vyaṁsam | yaḥ pipruṁ namuciṁ yo rudhikrāṁ tasmā indrāyāndhaso juhota ||

Translation

Ye ministers, to him who struck down Svasna, and did to death Vyamsa and greedy Susna, And Rudhikras and Namuci and Pipru,- to him, to Indra, pour ye forth libation.

अध्वर्यवो यः शतं शम्बरस्य पुरो बिभेदाश्मनेव पूर्वीः। यो वर्चिनः शतमिन्द्रः सहस्रमपावपद्भरता सोममस्मै॥

Transliteration

adhvaryavo yaḥ śataṁ śambarasya puro bibhedāśmaneva pūrvīḥ | yo varcinaḥ śatamindraḥ sahasramapāvapadbharatā somamasmai ||

Translation

Ye ministers, to him who as with thunder demolished Sambara's hundred ancient castles; Who cast down Varcin's sons, a hundred thousand,-to him, to Indra, offer ye the Soma.

Transliteration

adhvaryavo yaḥ śatamā sahasraṁ bhūmyā upasthe'vapajjaghanvān | kutsasyāyoratithigvasya vīrānnyāvṛṇagbharatā somamasmai ||

Translation

Ye ministers, to him who slew a hundred thousand, and cast them down upon earth's bosom; Who quelled the valiant men of Atithigva, Kutsa, and Ayu,-bring to him the Soma.

अध्वर्यवो यन्नरः कामयाध्वे श्रुष्टी वहन्तो नशथा तदिन्द्रे। गभस्तिपूतं भरत श्रुतायेन्द्राय सोमं यज्यवो जुहोत॥

Transliteration

adhvaryavo yannaraḥ kāmayādhve śruṣṭī vahanto naśathā tadindre | gabhastipūtaṁ bharata śrutāyendrāya somaṁ yajyavo juhota ||

Translation

Ministers, men, whatever thing ye long for obtain ye quickly bringing gifts to Indra. Bring to the Glorious One what bands have cleansed; to Indra bring, ye pious ones, the Soma.

अध्वर्यवः कर्तना श्रुष्टिमस्मै वने निपूतं वन उन्नयध्वम्। जुषाणो हस्त्यमभि वावशे व इन्द्राय सोमं मदिरं जुहोत॥

Transliteration

adhvaryavaḥ kartanā śruṣṭimasmai vane nipūtaṁ vana unnayadhvam | juṣāṇo hastyamabhi vāvaśe va indrāya somaṁ madiraṁ juhota ||

Translation

Do ye, O ministers, obey his order: that purified in wood, in wood uplift ye. Well pleased he longs for what your hands have tended: offer the gladdening Soma juice to Indra.

अध्वर्यवः पयसोधर्यथा गोः सोमेभिरीं पृणता भोजमिन्द्रम्। वेदाहमस्य निभृतं म एतद्दित्सन्तं भूयो यजतश्चिकेत॥

Transliteration

adhvaryavaḥ payasodharyathā goḥ somebhirīṁ pṛṇatā bhojamindram | vedāhamasya nibhṛtaṁ ma etadditsantaṁ bhūyo yajataściketa ||

Translation

As the cow's udder teems with milk, Adhvaryus, so fill with Soma Indra, liberal giver. I know him: I am sure of this, the Holy knows that I fain would give to him more largely.

अध्वर्यवो यो दिव्यस्य वस्वो यः पार्थिवस्य क्षम्यस्य राजा। तमूर्दरं न पृणता यवेनेन्द्रं सोमेभिस्तदपो वो अस्तु॥

Transliteration

adhvaryavo yo divyasya vasvo yaḥ pārthivasya kṣamyasya rājā | tamūrdaraṁ na pṛṇatā yavenendraṁ somebhistadapo vo astu ||

Translation

Him, ministers, the Lord of heavenly treasure and all terrestrial wealth that earth possesses, Him, Indra, fill with Soma as a garner is filled with barley full: be this your labour.

अस्मभ्यं तद्वसो दानाय राधः समर्थयस्व बहु ते वसव्यम्। इन्द्र यच्चित्रं श्रवस्या अनु द्यून्बृहद्वदेम विदथे सुवीराः॥

Transliteration

asmabhyaṁ tadvaso dānāya rādhaḥ samarthayasva bahu te vasavyam | indra yaccitraṁ śravasyā anu dyūnbṛhadvadema vidathe suvīrāḥ ||

Translation

Prepare thyself to grant us that great booty, O Vasu, for abundant is thy treasure. Gather up wondrous wealth, O Indra, daily. Loud may we speak, with heroes, in assembly.
