नि होता होतृषदने विदानस्त्वेषो दीदिवाँ असदत्सुदक्षः। अदब्धव्रतप्रमतिर्वसिष्ठः सहस्रम्भरः शुचिजिह्वो अग्निः॥

Transliteration

ni hotā hotṛṣadane vidānastveṣo dīdivā asadatsudakṣaḥ | adabdhavratapramatirvasiṣṭhaḥ sahasrambharaḥ śucijihvo agniḥ ||

Translation

ACCUSTOMED to the Herald's place, the Herald hath seated him, bright, splendid, passing mighty, Whose foresight keeps the Law from violation, excellent, pure-tongued, bringing thousands, Agni.

त्वं दूतस्त्वमु नः परस्पास्त्वं वस्य आ वृषभ प्रणेता। अग्ने तोकस्य नस्तने तनूनामप्रयुच्छन्दीद्यद्बोधि गोपाः॥

Transliteration

tvaṁ dūtastvamu naḥ paraspāstvaṁ vasya ā vṛṣabha praṇetā | agne tokasya nastane tanūnāmaprayucchandīdyadbodhi gopāḥ ||

Translation

Envoy art thou, protector from the foeman, strong God, thou leadest us to higher blessings. Refulgent, be an ever-heedful keeper, Agni, for us and for our seed offspring.

विधेम ते परमे जन्मन्नग्ने विधेम स्तोमैरवरे सधस्थे। यस्माद्योनेरुदारिथा यजे तं प्र त्वे हवींषि जुहुरे समिद्धे॥

Transliteration

vidhema te parame janmannagne vidhema stomairavare sadhasthe | yasmādyonerudārithā yaje taṁ pra tve havīṁṣi juhure samiddhe ||

Translation

May we adore thee in thy loftiest birthplace, and, with our praises, in thy lower station. The place whence thou issued forth I worship: to thee well kindled have they paid oblations.

अग्ने यजस्व हविषा यजीयाञ्छ्रुष्टी देष्णमभि गृणीहि राधः। त्वं ह्यसि रयिपती रयीणां त्वं शुक्रस्य वचसो मनोता॥

Transliteration

agne yajasva haviṣā yajīyāñchruṣṭī deṣṇamabhi gṛṇīhi rādhaḥ | tvaṁ hyasi rayipatī rayīṇāṁ tvaṁ śukrasya vacaso manotā ||

Translation

Agni, best Priest, pay worship with oblation; quickly commend the gift to be presented; For thou art Lord of gathered wealth and treasure. of the bright song of praise thou art inventor.

उभयं ते न क्षीयते वसव्यं दिवेदिवे जायमानस्य दस्म। कृधि क्षुमन्तं जरितारमग्ने कृधि पतिं स्वपत्यस्य रायः॥

Transliteration

ubhayaṁ te na kṣīyate vasavyaṁ divedive jāyamānasya dasma | kṛdhi kṣumantaṁ jaritāramagne kṛdhi patiṁ svapatyasya rāyaḥ ||

Translation

The twofold opulence, O Wonder-Worker, of thee new-born each day never decreases. Enrich with food the man who lauds thee, Agni: make him the lord of wealth with noble offspring.

सैनानीकेन सुविदत्रो अस्मे यष्टा देवाँ आयजिष्ठः स्वस्ति। अदब्धो गोपा उत नः परस्पा अग्ने द्युमदुत रेवद्दिदीहि॥

Transliteration

sainānīkena suvidatro asme yaṣṭā devā āyajiṣṭhaḥ svasti | adabdho gopā uta naḥ paraspā agne dyumaduta revaddidīhi ||

Translation

May he, benevolent with this fair aspect, best sacrificer, bring the Gods to bless us. Sure guardian, our protector from the foemen, shine, Agni, with thine affluence and splendour.
