चित्रो वोऽस्तु यामश्चित्र ऊती सुदानवः। मरुतो अहिभानवः॥

Transliteration

citro vo'stu yāmaścitra ūtī sudānavaḥ | maruto ahibhānavaḥ ||

Translation

WONDERFUL let your coming be, wondrous with help, ye Bounteous Ones, Maruts, who gleam as serpents gleam.

आरे सा वः सुदानवो मरुत ऋञ्जती शरुः। आरे अश्मा यमस्यथ॥

Transliteration

āre sā vaḥ sudānavo maruta ṛñjatī śaruḥ | āre aśmā yamasyatha ||

Translation

Far be from us, O Maruts, ye free givers, your impetuous shaft; Far from us be the stone ye hurl.

तृणस्कन्दस्य नु विशः परि वृङ्क्त सुदानवः। ऊर्ध्वान्नः कर्त जीवसे॥

Transliteration

tṛṇaskandasya nu viśaḥ pari vṛṅkta sudānavaḥ | ūrdhvānnaḥ karta jīvase ||

Translation

O Bounteous Givers, touch ye not, O Maruts, Trnskanda's folk; Lift ye us up that we may live.
