अप नः शोशुचदघमग्ने शुशुग्ध्या रयिम्। अप नः शोशुचदघम्॥

Transliteration

apa naḥ śośucadaghamagne śuśugdhyā rayim | apa naḥ śośucadagham ||

Translation

CHASING with light our sin away, O Agni, shine thou wealth on us. May his light chase our sin away.

Transliteration

sukṣetriyā sugātuyā vasūyā ca yajāmahe | apa naḥ śośucadagham ||

Translation

For goodly fields, for pleasant homes, for wealth we sacrifice to thee. May his light chase our sin away.

Transliteration

pra yadbhandiṣṭha eṣāṁ prāsmākāsaśca sūrayaḥ | apa naḥ śośucadagham ||

Translation

Best praiser of all these be he; foremost, our chiefs who sacrifice. May his light chase our sin away.

pra yatte agne sūrayo jāyemahi pra te vayam | apa naḥ śośucadagham ||

Translation

So that thy worshippers and we, thine, Agni, in our sons may live. May his light chase our sin away.

As ever- conquering Agni's beams of splendour go to every side, May his light chase our sin away.
