सूक्त ३५

अग्निनेन्द्रेण वरुणेन विष्णुनादित्यै रुद्रैर्वसुभिः सचाभुवा। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण च सोमं पिबतमश्विना॥

agninendreṇa varuṇena viṣṇunādityai rudrairvasubhiḥ sacābhuvā | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa ca somaṁ pibatamaśvinā ||

WITH Agni and with Indra, Visnu. Varuna, with the Adityas, Rudras, Vasus, closely leagued; Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, O Asvins, drink the Soma juice.

विश्वाभिर्धीभिर्भुवनेन वाजिना दिवा पृथिव्याद्रिभिः सचाभुवा। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण च सोमं पिबतमश्विना॥

viśvābhirdhībhirbhuvanena vājinā divā pṛthivyādribhiḥ sacābhuvā | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa ca somaṁ pibatamaśvinā ||

With all the Holy Thoughts, all being Mighty Ones! in close alliance wil the Mountains, Heaven, and Earth; Accordant. of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, O Asvins, drink the Soma juice.

विश्वैर्देवैस्त्रिभिरेकादशैरिहाद्भिर्मरुद्भिर्भृगुभिः सचाभुवा। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण च सोमं पिबतमश्विना॥

viśvairdevaistribhirekādaśairihādbhirmarudbhirbhṛgubhiḥ sacābhuvā | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa ca somaṁ pibatamaśvinā ||

With all the Deities, three times eleven, here, in close alliance with the Maruts, Bhrgus, Floods; Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, O Asvins, drink the Soma juice.

जुषेथां यज्ञं बोधतं हवस्य मे विश्वेह देवौ सवनाव गच्छतम्। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण चेषं नो वोळ्हमश्विना॥

juṣethāṁ yajñaṁ bodhataṁ havasya me viśveha devau savanāva gacchatam | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa ceṣaṁ no voḻhamaśvinā ||

Accept the sacrifice, attend to this my call: come nigh, O ye Twain Gods, to all libations here. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, O Asvins, bring us strengthening food.

स्तोमं जुषेथां युवशेव कन्यनां विश्वेह देवौ सवनाव गच्छतम्। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण चेषं नो वोळ्हमश्विना॥

stomaṁ juṣethāṁ yuvaśeva kanyanāṁ viśveha devau savanāva gacchatam | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa ceṣaṁ no voḻhamaśvinā ||

Accept our praise-song as a youth accepts a maid. Come nigh, O ye Twain Gods, to all libations here. Accordant, of one mind with Sarya and with Dawn O Asvins, bring us strengthening food.

गिरो जुषेथामध्वरं जुषेथां विश्वेह देवौ सवनाव गच्छतम्। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण चेषं नो वोळ्हमश्विना॥

giro juṣethāmadhvaraṁ juṣethāṁ viśveha devau savanāva gacchatam | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa ceṣaṁ no voḻhamaśvinā ||

Accept the songs we sing, accept the solemn rite. Conie nigh, O ye Twain Gods, to all libations here. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, O Asvins, bring us strengthening food.

हारिद्रवेव पतथो वनेदुप सोमं सुतं महिषेवाव गच्छथः। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण च त्रिर्वर्तिर्यातमश्विना॥

hāridraveva patatho vanedupa somaṁ sutaṁ mahiṣevāva gacchathaḥ | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa ca trirvartiryātamaśvinā ||

Ye fly as starlings fly unto the forest trees; like buffaloes ye seek the Soma we have shed. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, come thrice, O Asvins, to our home.

हंसाविव पतथो अध्वगाविव सोमं सुतं महिषेवाव गच्छथः। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण च त्रिर्वर्तिर्यातमश्विना॥

haṁsāviva patatho adhvagāviva somaṁ sutaṁ mahiṣevāva gacchathaḥ | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa ca trirvartiryātamaśvinā ||

Ye fly like swans, like those who travel on their way; like buffaloes ye seek the Soma we have shed. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, come thrice, O Asvins, to our home.

श्येनाविव पतथो हव्यदातये सोमं सुतं महिषेवाव गच्छथः। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण च त्रिर्वर्तिर्यातमश्विना॥

śyenāviva patatho havyadātaye somaṁ sutaṁ mahiṣevāva gacchathaḥ | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa ca trirvartiryātamaśvinā ||

Ye fly to our oblation like a pair of hawks; like buffaloes ye seek the Soma we have shed. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, come thrice, O Asvins, to our home.

पिबतं च तृप्णुतं चा च गच्छतं प्रजां च धत्तं द्रविणं च धत्तम्। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण चोर्जं नो धत्तमश्विना॥

pibataṁ ca tṛpṇutaṁ cā ca gacchataṁ prajāṁ ca dhattaṁ draviṇaṁ ca dhattam | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa corjaṁ no dhattamaśvinā ||

Come hitherward and drink and satisfy yourselves, bestow upon us progeny and affluence. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, O Asvins, grant us vigorous strength.

जयतं च प्र स्तुतं च प्र चावतं प्रजां च धत्तं द्रविणं च धत्तम्। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण चोर्जं नो धत्तमश्विना॥

jayataṁ ca pra stutaṁ ca pra cāvataṁ prajāṁ ca dhattaṁ draviṇaṁ ca dhattam | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa corjaṁ no dhattamaśvinā ||

Conquer your foes, protect us, praise your worshippers; bestow upon us progeny and affluence. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, O Asvins, grant us vigolms strength.

हतं च शत्रून्यततं च मित्रिणः प्रजां च धत्तं द्रविणं च धत्तम्। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण चोर्जं नो धत्तमश्विना॥

hataṁ ca śatrūnyatataṁ ca mitriṇaḥ prajāṁ ca dhattaṁ draviṇaṁ ca dhattam | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa corjaṁ no dhattamaśvinā ||

Slay enemies, animate men whom ye befriend; bestow upon us progeny and aff luence. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, O Asvins, grant us vigorous strength.

मित्रावरुणवन्ता उत धर्मवन्ता मरुत्वन्ता जरितुर्गच्छथो हवम्। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण चादित्यैर्यातमश्विना॥

mitrāvaruṇavantā uta dharmavantā marutvantā jariturgacchatho havam | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa cādityairyātamaśvinā ||

With Mitra, Varuna, Dharma, and the Maruts in your company approach unto your praiser's call. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, and with the Adityas, Asvins! come.

अङ्गिरस्वन्ता उत विष्णुवन्ता मरुत्वन्ता जरितुर्गच्छथो हवम्। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण चादित्यैर्यातमश्विना॥

aṅgirasvantā uta viṣṇuvantā marutvantā jariturgacchatho havam | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa cādityairyātamaśvinā ||

With Visnu and the Angirases attending you, and with the Maruts come unto your praiser's call. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, and with the Adityas, Asvins! come.

ऋभुमन्ता वृषणा वाजवन्ता मरुत्वन्ता जरितुर्गच्छथो हवम्। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण चादित्यैर्यातमश्विना॥

ṛbhumantā vṛṣaṇā vājavantā marutvantā jariturgacchatho havam | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa cādityairyātamaśvinā ||

With Rbhus and With Vajas. O ye Mighty Ones, leagued with the Maruts come ye to your praiser's call. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, and with the Adityas, Asvins! come.

ब्रह्म जिन्वतमुत जिन्वतं धियो हतं रक्षांसि सेधतममीवाः। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण च सोमं सुन्वतो अश्विना॥

brahma jinvatamuta jinvataṁ dhiyo hataṁ rakṣāṁsi sedhatamamīvāḥ | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa ca somaṁ sunvato aśvinā ||

Give spirit to our prayer and animate our thoughts; slay ye the Raksasas and drive away disease. Accordant, of One mind with Surya and with Dawn, -the presser's Soma, Asvins drink.

क्षत्रं जिन्वतमुत जिन्वतं नॄन्हतं रक्षांसि सेधतममीवाः। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण च सोमं सुन्वतो अश्विना॥

kṣatraṁ jinvatamuta jinvataṁ nṝnhataṁ rakṣāṁsi sedhatamamīvāḥ | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa ca somaṁ sunvato aśvinā ||

Strengthen the Ruling Power, strengthen the men of war; slay ye the Raksasas and drive away disease. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, the presser's Soma, Asvins drink.

धेनूर्जिन्वतमुत जिन्वतं विशो हतं रक्षांसि सेधतममीवाः। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण च सोमं सुन्वतो अश्विना॥

dhenūrjinvatamuta jinvataṁ viśo hataṁ rakṣāṁsi sedhatamamīvāḥ | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa ca somaṁ sunvato aśvinā ||

Give strength unto the milch-kine, give the people strength, slay ye the Raksasas and drive away disease. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, the presser's Soma, Asvins drink.

अत्रेरिव शृणुतं पूर्व्यस्तुतिं श्यावाश्वस्य सुन्वतो मदच्युता। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण चाश्विना तिरोअह्न्यम्॥

atreriva śṛṇutaṁ pūrvyastutiṁ śyāvāśvasya sunvato madacyutā | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa cāśvinā tiroahnyam ||

As ye heard Atri's earliest eulogy, so hear Syavasva, Soma-presser, ye who reel in joy. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, drink juice, O Asvins, three days old.

सर्गाँ इव सृजतं सुष्टुतीरुप श्यावाश्वस्य सुन्वतो मदच्युता। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण चाश्विना तिरोअह्न्यम्॥

sargā iva sṛjataṁ suṣṭutīrupa śyāvāśvasya sunvato madacyutā | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa cāśvinā tiroahnyam ||

Further like running streams Syavasva's eulogies who presses out the Soma, ye who reel in joy. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, drink juice, O Asvins, three days old.

रश्मीँरिव यच्छतमध्वराँ उप श्यावाश्वस्य सुन्वतो मदच्युता। सजोषसा उषसा सूर्येण चाश्विना तिरोअह्न्यम्॥

raśmīriva yacchatamadhvarā upa śyāvāśvasya sunvato madacyutā | sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa cāśvinā tiroahnyam ||

Seize, as ye grasp the reins, Syavasva's solemn rites who presses out the Soma, ye who reel in joy. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, drink juice, O Asvins, three days old.

अर्वाग्रथं नि यच्छतं पिबतं सोम्यं मधु। आ यातमश्विना गतमवस्युर्वामहं हुवे धत्तं रत्नानि दाशुषे॥

arvāgrathaṁ ni yacchataṁ pibataṁ somyaṁ madhu | ā yātamaśvinā gatamavasyurvāmahaṁ huve dhattaṁ ratnāni dāśuṣe ||

Drive down your chariot hitherward drink ye the Soma's savoury juice. Approach, ye Asvins, come to us: I call you, eager for your aid. Grant treasures to the worshipper.

नमोवाके प्रस्थिते अध्वरे नरा विवक्षणस्य पीतये। आ यातमश्विना गतमवस्युर्वामहं हुवे धत्तं रत्नानि दाशुषे॥

namovāke prasthite adhvare narā vivakṣaṇasya pītaye | ā yātamaśvinā gatamavasyurvāmahaṁ huve dhattaṁ ratnāni dāśuṣe ||

When sacrifice which tells our reverence hath begun. Heroes! to drink the gushing juice, Approach, ye Asvins, come to us: I call you, eager for your aid. Grant treasures to the worshipper.

स्वाहाकृतस्य तृम्पतं सुतस्य देवावन्धसः। आ यातमश्विना गतमवस्युर्वामहं हुवे धत्तं रत्नानि दाशुषे॥

svāhākṛtasya tṛmpataṁ sutasya devāvandhasaḥ | ā yātamaśvinā gatamavasyurvāmahaṁ huve dhattaṁ ratnāni dāśuṣe ||

Sate you with consecrated drink, with juice effused, ye Deities. Approach, ye Asvins, come to us: I call you, eager for your aid. Grant treasures to the worshipper.
